Starts From
Every once in a while, you need to get off the roads; you need to bid a temporary adios to the city, and you just need to take a breather.
When the air in the city becomes too heavy to breathe in, you will crave some fresh, clean air. As the meetings and projects start to pile up, you will want a break that allows you to reset your mind and body.
At Plan The Unplanned, we are kind of experts in offering breaks that don’t take up too much of your time, but will give you the time you need to disconnect with the world.
If you have 3 days to spare, we can whisk you away to a little slice of paradise that lies in the heart of Himachal Pradesh. The Kasol Kheerganga Trek gives you the best of two worlds – a quaint village that gives you a taste of village life and a trekker’s heaven.
You get nature and nurture - there is something for the body and mind and a little something for your soul too!
Once infamous for marijuana cultivation, today Kheerganga is recognised as a popular point to access the stunning Parvati Valley in the Kullu district. This trek will show you everything your soul craves – the mighty Parvati River, waterfalls that cascade down, mountains out of wallpapers and temples that have long withstood the test of time.
And then there is Kasol, which is now a mini Israel – savour Israeli cuisine and make some new friends, all in a single trip with Plan The Unplanned!
Yes, we have plenty of treks on offer to people who want to take a break from Delhi or the nearby cities and towns, but there is something about the Kasol Kheerganga Trek. This is one of those treks that is truly magical:
Once the trek is done and you head back home, we promise you that your backpack might have unwashed laundry, but your heart will be filled with joy. Your camera will have memories that are screensaver worthy and your head will be pondering over the next trek with our tribe!

At about 10:00am we are supposed to get into Kasol after an overnight beautiful drive. On the way, the Plan The Unplanned team will stop to have an energizing breakfast.
As soon as we arrive in Kasol we shall get ourselves registered in our homestay accommodation and take a shower and then have a good lunch. The rest of the day will be spent in admiring the beauty of this peaceful town in the Himalayas.
After lunch, we venture out to enjoy the jewels of Kasol, be it a leisurely stroll along the buttery-smooth, milky white Parvati River, a visit to the spiritual nourishing, Manikaran Sahib Gurudwara or a peaceful, 30-minute dozy hike, to Chalal, the calm pine-framed sister village of its active neighbor, Kasol. And, should the time allow, you can even see the tracks to the nearby villages such as Tosh, Malana, Pulga, and Naggar which each have a story to tell.
The sun goes down and the temperatures become lower, so we will be back to homestay in the evening. The night becomes yours to relax- get cozy with other travellers, enjoy a cup of the local chai, or just look at the stars.
Dinner is taken, then it is time to recharge and sleep - as tomorrow is the day we start the actual trek.

Start your day with awesome inhaling of the sweet mountain air and have an early morning hot breakfast. A briefing on necessary guidelines, safety precautions, and an overview of how the trek would be like shall be done by our trek leader.
We were then on our way through a scenic drive to our starting point of Kheerganga trek, Barshaini. Here we start on our trip back to the core of the Parvati Valley. As we go on our hike we are joined at various points by the Parvati River, which would gently say to us, as we walk on the lush conifer woodland, across rough wooden bridges, through scenic villages and dwellings of the locals.
The track is easy, alternating level terrain and steep inclines, some of them up to 50 m, the most spectacular being a 300 m steep section at the 5.4 km point. However, the scene continuously shifts and the cool mountain air keeps you in that good spirit all the time.
Kheerganga is located between the mountains, and after 5-6 hours of hiking, we will get there. In this case we shall camp on our misty mountaintop. Do not miss visiting the Parvati Kund, the natural hot springs which provide a fantastic, soul-warming experience with a complete panoramic view.
In the evening you are all to yourself to relax and to explore or just enjoy the calmness of the Himalayas. It is followed by a hot dinner under the stars before you retire to your tents to have a peaceful night stay.
