Details

Starting our adventure, we depart late in the evening in Delhi on our over night trip to Manali. We will send you an email on exact pick up time and the place of meeting before departure.

We will make sure that there are sufficient stopovers to take meals, go to the bathrooms and stretch. After settling in everyone we will have a round of entertaining ice-breakers, team introductions and a last-minute briefing by the trek leaders of what the coming trip will entail.

Hint: Have a nice rest in the bus-in the morning you are going to have a nice mountain adventure!

Details

We will arrive at Manali early in the morning and you will find groups of other riders who will be arriving at various places. Once you have checked into your accommodation, relax a little and give yourself time to clean up a bit. The remaining time of the day is also at your own disposal to discover the colorful hill town of Manali.

The following are some of the places that should be visited within Manali:

  1. Hidimba Devi Temple - A peaceful temple that has cedar forest all around it
  2. Mall Road- An ideal shopping or street food place
  3. Old Manali- It is a casual place and quaint cafes in Old Manali
  4. Vashisht Temple- Known because of its hot springs
  5. Solang Valley - Ride in the ropeway or sight see
  6. Tibetan Monasteries- Calm places to rest and experience the local culture

At night, head back to your accommodation to have a hot night of sizzling games, buttered gossip, and cool ambience. Dinner will follow, and after this you may turn in and have a sleep before the fun begins.

Details

After breakfast we have an exciting twist in our driving as we now move to Sarchu which is the entryway between Ladakh and Himachal. We will go through the famous Atal Tunnel and can observe a significant shift in the continent as we are going across two legendary high-altitude passes:

  1. Rohtang Pass (13,060 ft) famous for its panoramic views and beauty covered in snow
  2. Baralacha-La Pass (16,500 ft) A kind of surreal land with desolate mountains, glaciated lakes and unpredictable weather.

When you arrive at Sarchu, you will be given the bikes. Spend some time trying them to make any adjustments or glitches, before you are fully prepared to take the ride.

The night will be spent at our camp-site in Sarchu, between bare but beautiful landscapes. Dinner under the stars, good company and relaxed fun will close the day.

Details

After an early breakfast we set forward again towards Leh, through one of the most stunning terrains of the whole journey.

On this part we cross a visual masterpiece:

  • Tanglang La Pass: This is one of the world's highest motorable roads.
  • The skyline of the Moore Plains - A phantasmagoric desert plateau of 15,500 ft
  • Beautiful village of Upshi famous in its colorful visuals and changing colours

Although it is one of the longest days of traveling, you will be in good spirits due to the constantly changing scenery.

After arriving at Leh, get lodged at your accommodation and relax. At the end of such a picturesque and exhausting day, you will have a relaxing dinner and spend a tranquil night in Leh.

Details

To experience the rich heritage and peaceful charm of the cultural icons in Leh, we left after a power packed breakfast.

First of all, we visit:

Shey Palace - the Summer capital of Ladakh, Shey includes the tallest statue of Buddha fully plated with gold in the area. It is an ideal way to start the day as it offers peaceful and panoramic views.

Then we come to:

Thiksey Monastery- Thiksey is a magnificent 12-storey gompa and the largest monastery in the central Ladakh region which has a great number of Buddhist relics, it has a panoramic view of the Indus Valley.

Lastly, the visit we get to see is:

Shanti Stupa- Located at an elevation of 11,841 ft on Chanspa, this sparkling white stupa is constructed using beautiful carvings and provides a magnificent 360 panoramic view of the Leh city and the mountains. An ideal location to think and take pictures.

Back to stay by evening for dinner and a laid back evening stay in Leh.

Details

Rise early to the fresh high altitude air and enjoy a filling breakfast as we set our direction towards Nubra Valley- a dream high-altitude desert.

We will drive up to the famous “Khardung La Pass" (5,359 m) , one of the highest motorable passes in the world. Here we can take a pit stop in order to absorb the panoramic views and get some insta-worthy photos.

We drive down through the magical valley of Nubra, popularly known as the orchard of Kashmir, that is home to lush valley and distinctive landscape.

Having arrived in Hundar, now is the moment of adrenalin and fun. As self-sponsored activities, you can choose to use:

  • Sand dune ATVs
  • Doubled-humped Bactrian camel tour
  • Photography shoots with dramatic desert backgrounds

We get back to the camp / stay; span the tales during dinner later and bury deep into our warm shelter over the vast Nubra Valley.

Details

Wake up to a new beautiful day in the Nubra Valley. We then set out for a prodigious view of the Pangong Tso after breakfast, but there is a spiritual stop on the way, the oldest and largest monastery in Nubra, the Diskit Monastery, with a view of Maitreya Buddha standing tall on a hilltop, and a panoramic view of the valley below.

Our journey to Pangong is nothing less than spectacular as we move out of the sand dunes to high mountain passes and the mesmerizing views of the lake. En route, we shall visit Pangong Tso- a dreamy high altitude lake that cuts through a distance of 134 kilometers originating in Ladakh and designed to Tibet. The lake is segregated into five sub-lakes, which are Pangong Tso, Tso Nyak, Rum Tso (twin lakes) and Nyak Tso. It is only 40 percent on Indian territory, the rest is in a territory of geopolitical sensitivity.

On our way to Pangong, we reached there and enjoyed the color variations of the lake under the setting sun. Having captured some magical moments, we will check into our place of stay.

The lakeside will then serve dinner and relax under the stars at the most famous high altitude lake in the world.

Details

After sharing an early breakfast in the serene Pangong waters, we began an even though magnificent drive to the under-traversed jewel of Ladakh Tso Moriri Lake.

Our expedition will lead us to wild and unspoiled terrain where the expanse of the land is enough to make an experienced traveler feel small. See the desolate mountains slowly turn into plains that are surrounded by snow-kissed mountains, visit the most serene valleys and faraway army checkposts.

Later in the evening we will arrive at the Tso Moriri- one of the highest lakes in India and a Wetland Reserve hence its ecological significance. Tso Moriri is a refuge to migratory birds and saltwater lake which is nestled above 4,500 meters and a soul-stirring view to the souls who wish to escape the cl logging of people and to experience nature at its best.

We will have a warm dinner after freshening up to the calmness that awaits. The night will be in the serenity of the Changthang plateau, looking up at a sky full of stars.

Details

Early morning breakfast & leisure at Tso Moriri after which we shall embark on our journey back to Leh crossing the same path through the magnificent sight of the cold desert.

The distance is not too much, but the terrain is quite demanding and so this stretch of the journey becomes one of the most tiresome ones. However, every bend and ascent will reward you with spectacular sceneries of crystal-clear lakes, mountains and mute valleys that are seemingly out of time.

Finally you would reach Leh and enjoy a warm dinner that could refresh you. The remainder of the evening is your free time to get your feet up; this can be a silent walk in the narrow lanes of Leh or just a rest in preparation of the next day outing.

Details

After breakfast we are on the move to Kargil, a town that is not only rich in history but also has rough beauty around it. Reputed to be a strategic point and the place where the Kargil War took place in the year 1999, this spot is also characterized by a perfect mixture of adventure activities such as trekking, mountaineering, camping and river rafting.

Our journey is going to go by some of the most famous places of Ladakh:

  • The gurudwara pathar sahib where you can get a divine lunch in the form of a langar.
  • Hall of Fame A heart-touching dedication to Indian valiant soldiers.
  • Magnetic Hill- A phenomenon that will make you say that even magnetic force obeys the law of Newton.
  • Sangam- Watch the magnificent majesty of the merger of rivers Indus and Zanskar, the merging blue with green water.

We shall have a good dinner and settle down in Kargil after check-in formalities, to have rest and preparation of what has to follow.

Details

Congratulations! It is Day 11 of the mind-blowing Leh Ladakh biking tour of Manali. Once we have breakfast in the Kargil, we will start the beautiful drive towards Srinagar through the beautiful scenery of Kashmir. In the afternoon we are going to the very centre of paradise.

The other part of the day is free to you to explore and relax. Make this your just reward of getting the opportunity to:

  • Savor the delicious and spicy Wazwan dishes
  • Drink a cup of soul heating Kahwah tea prepared out of love by the residents
  • Buy hand crafted woollens and Kashmir crafts
  • Have a walk in or hire a shikara ride (your own expense) in Dal Lake to get the feeling of being in Srinagar
