Here is an opportunity to experience the land of the gods, the major water source for the Yamuna River system and a canvas of landscapes that look and feel surreal. Given that this is a moderate trek, even beginners can attempt it and here is what you can expect:
- Once you reach Dehradun, we will drive you towards Sankri village via a scenic route
- At the village, we will give you a day of leisure and homely comfort via a charming homestay
- On the first day of the trek, we head towards Taluka, a quaint hamlet with rustic homes
- From there, we walk through thick forests, raging waterfalls and the scents that will make you swoon
- As the sun gets ready to bid farewell to the day, we will reach and rest at our campsite for the night
- Traversing through Osla village along Supin river, we reach Kalkatiyadhar ridge and your first sight of Har Ki Dun comes to you
- Wake up to the sights of the spectacular Swargarohini peaks and spend another day trekking through green meadows and gushing waterfalls
- At the Har ki Dun valley, take the time to marvel at the Black and Swargarohini peaks
- Another day, another trek to the Puani Garaat campsite, which takes you through forests of pine and deodar
Towards the end of the Har Ki Dun trek itinerary, we promise you that you will not want to go home, because you will have made brand new friends and some amazing memories. But even if this trek comes to an end, we assure you that Plan The Unplanned has plenty more to offer!
Trek itinerary
- Pass through Mussoorie and witness changing landscapes along the way
- Reach Sankri, a quaint Himalayan village, by evening
- Overnight stay at a guesthouse in Sankri
- Trek alongside the Supin River through dense pine and deodar forests
- Catch first glimpses of Himalayan villages and wooden bridges
- Arrive at Puani Garaat for a peaceful riverside campsite stay
- Cross picturesque meadows and rocky paths to reach Kalkatiyadhaar
- Enjoy stunning views of surrounding peaks from your campsite
- Camp under a starlit sky at Kalkatiyadhaar
- Walk through alpine vegetation and mythical landscapes
- Witness majestic views of Swargrohini, Bandarpoonch, and Black Peak
- Spend time exploring the Valley of Gods before returning to camp
- Interact with villagers and learn about their Kaurava-devoted heritage
- Trek back to Puani Garaat for another night by the riverside
- Drive back to Sankri, where your trek began
- Celebrate the completion of your journey in the village warmth
- Soak in final views of the valleys, forests, and river systems
- Carry back memories of mythology, mountains, and magical moments

Trek detail itinerary
The group would meet up at Dehradun Railway Station by 6:30am. We also advise that you should get to Dehradun one day early so as to have an early start.
Today will be a long drive but a very scenic one that will take you through some of the most beautiful mountain roads, small hill towns and through the winding path of rivers. We will go to Sankri, a small Himalayan hamlet and the starting point of our trek.
We will arrive at Sankri and then get into our homestay. The remainder of the day is free to rest or tour the village, enjoy the scenery or attend nearby viewpoints.
At the end of the day, we will have a comfy meal and stay overnight at Sankri.
Note: The pickup point is provisional and it would be most probably Dehradun Railway Station.

All refund or cancellation requests must be submitted exclusively via email to [email protected]. Requests made by call or WhatsApp will not be accepted.
If you cancel your booking
In the event that YOU cancel your trek, this is the cancellation policy:

Last-minute cancellations on the day of or the day before trek departure
Last-minute cancellations made on the day of trek departure or the day before are not eligible for a refund or rescheduling, regardless of the reason (such as work commitments, family emergencies, or health).
Reschedule your booking on the day of trek departure
Should you choose to postpone your booking to a future date, an additional fee of ₹1500 per person will be incurred. This postponement option is valid for a period of 3 months from your original trek departure date.
Aranya Vihara treks and permits
Permit fees for treks obtained under Aranya Vihara are non-refundable in the event of customer cancellation.

In the event that WE postpone or cancel your trek, this is the cancellation policy:
During or after the trek
In the event of severe weather or other safety concerns, we may shorten a trek day or abandon the trek entirely. No refunds will be issued in such circumstances, as your safety is our top priority.
Prior to the trek
If we cancel a trek due to natural disasters (such as rainstorm, flood, landslide, earthquake) or unanticipated political disturbances (such as curfews, local riots, government orders, forest department directives), Plan The Unplanned will issue a voucher for the full value of your ticket. Please note that payment gateway charges will be deducted from this refund.
Insufficient reservations
If we cancel a trek due to insufficient reservations or lack of participants for a specific batch, a refund of 96% of the trek money will be issued. Please note that payment gateway charges will be deducted from this refund.
Trek guidelines
To ensure everyone has a great time and knows what to expect, please read these important points:
No alcohol or smoking
For everyone’s safety and enjoyment, please don’t consume alcohol, intoxicants, or smoke at any point during the journey or trek.
Dinner before boarding
Kindly complete your dinner before you board the bus.
Travel arrangements
We’ll arrange transportation based on our group size. If there are 12 or fewer of us, we’ll use a tempo traveler. For groups of 13 or more, it’ll be a mini-bus. Both options are non-AC and have push-back seats for your comfort. We appreciate your understanding regarding our travel logistics.
"Without Travel" option
If you prefer to arrange your own transportation to the destination (the homestay), be sure to book the “Without Travel” option when you sign up. Please note: If you select this, you’ll need a private car for your entire trip. Public transport won’t work, as our Day 2 activities begin directly from the homestay and require continuous private car access to ensure you can fully participate in all planned activities.
Embrace the outdoors
Our trips are about getting out into nature, often in remote locations. Please don’t expect luxury accommodations; we focus on providing comfortable basic facilities.
Food provided
We’ll provide basic, vegetarian meals. We do not serve non-vegetarian food.
Leave no trace policy
Please help us keep our beautiful outdoors clean by disposing of all litter properly.
Personal belongings
You are responsible for your personal belongings, valuables, and jewelry. Plan The Unplanned is not liable for any lost items.

While we strive to be on schedule, please be aware that traffic delays or vehicle breakdowns can sometimes occur, leading to slight delays in reaching our destination.
