our adventure begins early in the morning with a hearty breakfast, followed by a scenic drive to the base point of the Bandaje Falls trek. As the vehicle winds through mist-laced roads and lush countryside, anticipation builds for the journey ahead.
The trail kicks off with a gradual ascent into the heart of a dense forest, where towering trees form a natural tunnel overhead, filtering the sunlight into scattered rays. This part of the trek is truly immersive — as you step deeper into the forest, the hum of the city fades, replaced by the sounds of rustling leaves, chirping birds, and the distant call of wildlife.
Expect to navigate through thick vegetation, cross shallow streams, and walk along winding paths lined with roots and rocks — it’s nature’s obstacle course, designed for the adventurer in you.
After about 2 to 3 hours of trekking, the forest dramatically opens into a grassy plateau. Here, you'll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the surrounding Western Ghats — a perfect spot to pause, hydrate, and take in the vast beauty before continuing onward.
The final leg of the trail demands a bit of grit — a steep climb that tests your stamina and pays off spectacularly. As you summit, you're greeted by the thundering Bandaje Falls, plunging over 200 feet into a deep rocky gorge. The view is exhilarating. If the skies are clear, you can even spot the shimmering line of the Arabian Sea on the horizon — a rare gift of altitude and clarity.
Enjoy a packed lunch en route, surrounded by raw, untouched nature. Spend some time soaking in the misty spray of the waterfall, capturing photos, or simply sitting in silence beside the roaring cascade.
By late afternoon, begin the descent back to the base. You’ll then head to a cozy homestay nestled amidst greenery, arriving by around 6:00 PM. After a well-deserved rest and refreshing high tea, the evening unwinds with a bonfire session (subject to weather) and a delicious homely dinner.
As the stars scatter above and the mountain air cools, you’ll retire for the night, already reliving the highlights of an unforgettable day in the wild.

Day 2 begins with an early wake-up and a wholesome breakfast at the homestay. Post breakfast, we head to the serene Didupe Falls — a lesser-known waterfall tucked amidst lush forests. A short trail leads us to this peaceful spot where you can soak in the beauty, click photos, or take a refreshing dip if time and conditions permit.
Next, we journey to Dharmasthala to visit the iconic Bahubali Monolithic Statue at Ratnagiri Hill. Standing 39 feet tall, this magnificent stone sculpture of Lord Bahubali is a symbol of peace and renunciation. After a quick lunch, we begin our drive back to Bangalore, reaching the city by approximately 11:00 PM, ending the trip on a high note with nature and heritage etched in memory
