Uttarakhand Backpacking Trip

Newly Launched

The Uttarakhand Backpacking trip will take you to Rishikesh, Auli and Chopta.

Uttarakhand is the Devabhumi (“The Land of Gods”) due to the numerous Hindu temples present in the state. Uttarakhand is a host to the magnificent Himalayas and offers splendid views of the snow-capped mountain range. Quiet villages around winding mountain roads and serpentine rivers making their way through the hills also decorate this state.

Uttarakhand attracts many tourists as there is a variety of places to visit – Pilgrimages, Temples, Wildlife, Bird Watching, Rafting, Yoga, Trekking, Mountaineering and much more.

Who has not heard about Rishikesh being the Yoga capital of India, right? Well, not only is it the yoga capital of India it also has a lot of history dating back to the mythological ages owing to a lot of temples. Its famous Lakshman Jhula is the starting point to trek to Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri. Uttarakhand is also the most preferred place for river rafting in India.

Auli is located at a height of 2505 meters offering a beautiful view of the Himalayas. With its snowy slopes, it is known for being the Ski Resort of India. Auli means meadows and no doubt the hill station offers stunning views of meadows with the Himalayas in the background. The hill station is also known for its flora and fauna like the deodar, oaks, coniferous and pine forests. Remember studying it all in your Geography textbooks? Well, Auli is a living example and much more.

Chopta is a small settlement in the valleys of Uttarakhand. The entire region is a beauty haven and is known for adventure buffs and trekking enthusiasts. It offers views of the Trishul, Nanda Devi and Chaukhamba and the village is surrounded by forests of pine, rhododendron, a variety of birds and musk deer.  The Chopta – Tungnath – Chandrashaila trek is famous among trekkers.

I'm a solo traveller, Can I join?

The interesting thing about traveling alone is that you get to meet new people from  diverse backgrounds, and towards the end you are no longer strangers. Hence solo travelers are always welcome to join us on our trips. Read more about solo travelling here and get inspired! https://www.plantheunplanned.com/solo-yet-accompanied/

Is it safe for Women/Girls?

Safety and security is our priority at all times. Hence it is absolutely safe for women/girls to join us on our treks and travels. Our trek leaders accompany the team at all times, and our campsites are secured and safe for accomodation. We also have female trek leaders who accompany on most of our treks.

What will be the group size?

Usually, we take maximum of 15-18 people in one group. We believe bigger groups have less fun and less coordination so that’s why we prefer smaller groups.
