We arrive in Hampi in the morning, freshen up, and have breakfast before heading straight into adventure mode.
First up: bouldering — one of the most unique ways to experience Hampi. For anyone new to it, bouldering is a form of climbing done on natural rock surfaces, without ropes, but close to the ground, with crash pads for safety. It’s a fun, beginner-friendly introduction to climbing and a perfect way to connect with Hampi’s dramatic landscape.
And here’s something worth knowing: climbing shoes are intentionally snug and often a size smaller than your usual shoes. The tighter fit helps your feet stay secure, providing a better grip, precision, and control while navigating small holds on the rock.
After bouldering, we explore the quiet charm of Anegundi, wandering through its laid-back streets and soaking in the vibe. Lunch is at one of Hampi’s popular cafes (self-sponsored) — no better way to relax after an active morning.
In the evening, we head out for an offbeat sunset hike to a lesser-known viewpoint, offering stunning views of Hampi bathed in golden light.
We wrap up the day back at our stay with a cosy dinner, campfire conversations and a night under the stars — camping that feels just right after a day packed with experiences.

We start the day with a refreshing breakfast before diving into Hampi’s rich heritage.
Our first stop is Virupaksha Temple, one of the oldest functioning temples in India, dating back to the 7th century. This temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, has stood the test of time and continues to be the spiritual heart of Hampi even today.
Next, we make our way to the Lotus Mahal, a beautiful example of Indo-Islamic architecture. Its delicate arches and lotus-like design were built for the women of the royal household and it remains one of the most photogenic spots in Hampi.
From there, we head to the Elephant Stables, a massive and impressive structure that once housed royal elephants. The domed chambers and symmetry here give you a glimpse of how grand life was during the Vijayanagara Empire.
We continue to the iconic Vittala Temple, famous for its stone chariot and musical pillars — each pillar, when struck, produces a musical note, a true testament to the craftsmanship of that era.
After exploring these historical marvels, we break for lunch (self-sponsored) before heading out to Hemakuta Hill temple or Matanga Hill in the evening. These spots offer some of the most breathtaking panoramic views of Hampi — the perfect place to sit quietly and watch the sun set over ancient ruins and rolling boulders.
We wrap up the trip by departing Hampi around 7:00 PM, stop for dinner at Hospet (self-sponsored), and drive overnight to reach Bangalore by early morning — memories packed, camera rolls full, and mind refreshed.
