Day 0 – Depart for Kodachadri

The midnight journey of 397 km commences from Bangalore to Kollur. We shall have a brief orientation session and a fun-filled ice-breaking session where you will get to know about all your fellow trekkers.

Day 1 – Trek to Kodachadri

The day will begin as you reach the hospitable Kodachadri homestay where you can freshen up and enjoy a refreshing and filling breakfast. As we get ready and head out towards the fascinating village for the warm-up before the trek, you can start to feel the serenity of the place. The trail starts from the jeep stand – An enchanting route following a broad road, alongside tall trees and simple lifestyle of the village will bring a divine essence to the journey!

A ride of approx 1.5 km will take us to a dense jungle towards Hidlumane Falls. As the place is near coastlines, it’ll get a little humid. We’ll continue towards the picturesque waterfalls through the beautiful woodlands loaded with nature’s glee. This is a stream of seven falls & trail becomes exciting as we move towards Hidlumane Falls. The water falls from a steep height of 60 ft and it is one of the most unforgettable experiences of trek. As its said -’ No Pain, No Gain’ – so all will be worth it when you get drenched under the waterfalls. The trail to the right of the falls will lead us to the dense forest. Further following the route, the peak is now 4 km from jeep road. As we follow the jeep trail, it will take us to the Shri Mookambika Devi Temple. The peak that is home to a stunning range of biodiversity is just 2 km from the temple.

As we reach the last stretch of the adventure trek, we can capture the bright orange sun setting into the Arabian Sea, against the backdrop of a chain of hills that is simply worth the trek. The changing colors of the sky from fiery red, to orange and then yellow, is worth dying for! It is one of the most incomparable views of the Kodachadri Trek.

Now, the jeep ride to come down will be a thrilling ride that you’ll absolutely love! As it takes our hearts pumping with the steep curves & narrow ends! Enjoying the beautiful sights we shall head back down to the homestay. As we reach our base village, we will be served with the hot and delicious dinner by the hosts.

On the Kodachadri trekking, you can experience the best of what this land of the varied beauties of nature has to offer and experience the serene environment with camping right in the middle of the woods!

Day 2 – Visit Nagara Fort

Today, we shall head towards the Nagara Fort located in the Shimoga district of the state of Karnataka. Built in the 16th Century, the ruins of this fort still hold on to its old world charm and essence of heritage. The gorgeous sight of the fort that you’ll get when you are driving your way will make you stop in order to visit the fort. Kodchadri was my first trek in Banglore. I can’t believe it was so amazing much more than I expected. Starting from a foggy day crossing small water outlets to growing in depth of long trees. passing through the mid-point it is totally rocky. We can really feel the crush of trekking. Once we reach the top. It is totally snowy. Very cold and astonishing site. I will totally recommend if you like the adventure. Without the efforts of #Plannedtheunplanned and @jatin can’t imagine having this journey. Best jeep ride ever had on the rocky train with the fearless driver. I am proud of myself that I am capable of completing it. The bonding with new people and the friends you make was an experience among itself. I was really grateful to them and meeting them in the Trek. so yes in all a brilliant experience and must go place for trekking enthusiast. The best part is we couldn’t find many people on our way. No rush peaceful time to rediscover yourself.

A trekking trip, usually have 2 parts, the trek itself and the bus journey or home stay in which we spend most of our time.

You can read about the trek over the internet, may be ie why you choose it. However the Second part is entirely a different story, it all depends on groups to groups.

PlantheUnplanned nailed the second part. I had travelled with various groups but these guys clearly show how different it is to travel with a passionate group, rather than professional group.

Tarun and team Kudos to you efforts.

Being a die-hard trek-lover, i decided to plan my Kodachadri Trek with PTU and it was an amazing weekend for me.
It started from the talks before boarding the PTU bus till deboarding from it and everything between this time frame was hell of an enjoyment for me.
The trek leads made all the hikers no less than friends within 30 minutes of the journey. After that, we stayed as a family all way around.
We reached our home stay in the morning around 8:30am had breakfast and started for our trek at around 9:30 am. The trek had amazing scenic beauty and 14kms hike was really really amazing and makes me nostalgic now. Hildu waterfalls was amazing and made us all fresh during the hike.
The bumpy jeep ride way down from the hill was none less than adventure, we came back and had dinner after getting fresh.
The trek ended but the family was still intact. We had a campfire in the night, played games. The day an the upcoming night was joyous for all of us.

Thank you PTU and will be trekking with you soon.
