Let us connect to the roots of raw nature and spend some time making new friends, camping, watching the beautiful sunset and stare up at the starry skies. Covered with a vast expanse of lush green forests, the Kotagiri Trek is the perfect amalgamation of nature, serenity and cuisine. A typical forest trail crosses emerald blue lakes, frothy waterfalls and a large ambit of tree plantations. It is characterised by very rich plant diversity and exotic and endemic animal species along with two endangered animals – Lion-Tailed Macaque and Nilgiri Tahr. Pack your bags to wander in the wilderness and be mesmerised by the beauty of sheer beauty of the Nilgiri mountain range. Experience the cool weather and be bewitched by the aroma of tea gardens. Spend a night in a tent, under a star-lit sky and share some exciting stories with strangers over the barbeque. Travel! Before you run out of time.

We begin our trip from Bangalore as strangers but not for long as our fun and energetic trek leads have some exciting icebreakers up their sleeves to turn you lot into the best of friends overnight! Some call it magic but we simply consider it as another part of the experience here at Plan The Unplanned. Once you’re all familiar with the group, spend the night playing some fun games, engaged in interesting conversations or simply settle in for the night looking forward to an adventurous journey up ahead.
We will reach the campsite by 8:30 AM approx), and after some rest and a hearty breakfast, we will start the Kotagiri trek. Explore the adventurous trail with lush green forests and streams entangled around it and pamper yourself with the natural bliss of the Kotagiri hills. We will be given packed lunch during the trek.
After a breathtaking ridge trek, we will head to the tea estates. Experience the intensely aromatic tea grown there and after having a sip, we will wait to witness the enchanting sunset scene from Nilgiri Valley.
Then, we will head back to the campsite, and after some rest and dinner, we will sit under the starry skies and be spellbound by the beauty of the glittery sky.
We will kick-start the day with a visit to the double-cascaded Catherine Falls. We plan to return back to Bangalore by 11:00 PM.

Last weekend I went to kotagiri trek with Plan the unplanned, it’s my 2nd trek with PTU, I must say it’s a very unique experience for me, organizing camp site to making tent for night, from night trek to long bon fire experience sharing sessions all are very good, really enjoyed, trek leads are really good, helpful and patient.
I would strongly recommend this trek for all urbanites.
It was my first trek with Plan the unplanned and I loved the experience. I went to kotagiri with them. The organizers are young and energetic. They are very patient and motivate you throughout. I had a very nice set of people travelling with me. It was also my solo trip but throughout the span of 3 days, I did not feel discomfort. I had an amazing experience with Plan the Unplanned. Looking forward to going on more treks with them.
Really amazing trek community, one thing I must say PTU are not just about making money or running business but they are very soulfull people who is running this adventure, entire trek of Kotagiri was a blissful for me where I met a adventure junkie co-founder of PTU #Tarun and other trek leads Gowthem, Akshay & Rakshita. Entire crew was active and patience full throughout the trek. Arrangement was super in middle of mountains and loads of fun… I would highly recommend at least join 1 trek with these amazing people … Highly recommended.
