Netravathi Peak Trek, at an elevation of 1,520 metres, sits on the border between the Dakshina Kannada administrative division of Belthangadi Taluk and the Karnataka administrative division of Chikmagalur District. Because of its unique ecosystems, the Western Ghats have been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Despite its proximity to well-known landmarks like the Kudremukh, this hike is not as well-known as others in the region. One of Chikmagalur’s lesser-known hiking routes.

We'll arrive at Samse in the early hours of the morning, around 5 a.m. You should consider taking an hour nap after we check into the homestay in the heart of a tea garden if you want to be refreshed for the climb. Following that, we will eat a delicious traditional breakfast made by the homestay before beginning our journey around 8:30 a.m.
In Chikmagalur, we will begin our adventure by strolling through the city's gorgeous tea gardens and surrounding countryside. After that, we'll leave the paved road and enter a jungle route. In the event if we are feeling exhausted, we will have the opportunity to refresh ourselves in mountain streams and waterfalls along the way.
We will soon reach the final, steep stretch that makes its way up the undulating slopes to reach Netravathi Peak's summit. The entire hike is around 16 kilometres long, and reaching the summit should take about 4 hours.
After reaching the summit, we'll spend some time admiring the beautiful scenery. From here, we can view several of the other famous peaks in this region, including Kudremukh, and you can even walk to some of the other adjacent summits. Furthermore, upon closer inspection, we discover that this location is home to a large range of exotic plants, flowers, and creatures that can only be found here.
We shall hike back to the base once we have completed our inquiries to our satisfaction. We will also use the packed lunch provided by the homestay at some point during our return journey. It is required that we return to the homestay by 7 p.m. While staying at the homestay, we can enjoy a bonfire and meals at night.

The next morning, we'll eat a hearty breakfast before heading to Durgadahalli's Kodige Falls. We will hike for one kilometre on a well-marked track before a short fall. After descending the stairs to the fall, one can relax by a magnificent stream. Depending on the tide, we'll either stay here for a tranquil morning delight or have a dip in the freezing water. We'll return to the car later and continue our journey.
Later, we'll visit the Chennakesava Temple in Belur, Hassan District. The construction of the temple began in the 12th century and was nearly completed in 103 years. Over the years, it has been destroyed, rebuilt, damaged, and repaired. However, surprising aspects can be found in the building's sculptures, reliefs, friezes, and iconography.
We'll leave soon after that for our return trip where you'll be recalling the events as we travel. You can take a seat and take in the passing scenery or participate in games.
We'll stop for dinner later in the evening ( self-sponsored) which would arrive in approximately an hour. We know it's difficult to end talks just when we're getting started. We do, however, have some other exciting expeditions planned. With heavy hearts, we exchange our final goodbyes, only to cross paths again. Please check our schedules and call us as soon as possible until the next time.
