Gokarna needs no introduction. Lying on the bank of the Arabian Sea, Honnavar town has attracted and absorbed the culture of different people from countries like Portugal, England and the Netherlands who came here for trade. Apart from the human impact, the natural setting of Mangrove Forest sets the town apart. You will also get to see the Konkan Railway line passing through it.
This is a calling for beach lovers. Activities like the Gokarna Beach trek (covering Paradise, Half Moon, Om, Kudle, Gokarna Beach and Dolphin's Point), Movie Night in Open Theatre, Sunset by Kudle Beach, Honnavar Backwater Ride, Gokarna temple visit and a Gala Evening with DJ and Dance, In-house entertainment shows, first-class LIVE Performances are set. Note: New Year Celebration Shows are subject to permissions by local permissions/orders by the panchayat and police of Gokarna. In case of any disputes or last-minute orders leading to the cancellation of the new year celebrations, Plan The Unplanned shall not be responsible, and there will be no refund.
Due to the New Year, there will be regional limits on trekking and roadblocks. Please be ready for the same. The information regarding these orders cannot be obtained beforehand.
Without Travel: Travellers who have booked without travel must make their own travel arrangements to reach Gokarna and travel within Gokarna. We request you to travel via a private vehicle.

We begin our journey from Bangalore in the late evening after picking up trek participants from various pick-up locations. We will be covering a distance of 500 km to reach Gokarna overnight, and the aim is to reach on time; hence, all travellers are expected to have a light dinner before boarding. As we hit the road, the trek leads will summarise the trek and then get you acquainted with your fellow travelers through the signature PlanTheUnplanned Intro Session. By dawn, you will feel at home with your fellow travellers!

If you look outside your window, you will spot salt farms in the near distance. This means that we are now just minutes away from our destination. Carry your belongings into the cottage, freshen up, grab a bite, and get ready to start the trek to the base point.
Half Moon beach: This beach gains its name due to its resemblance to the shape of a half moon. Here’s when you get to relax and enjoy your peaceful surroundings. Ahead of Half Moon Beach, you will find an enormous rock called the Rock of Peace – it is the throne to witness one of the best sunsets; you will know why it’s named Rock of Peace only after you have experienced it. The whole world looks artistic from here; music starts playing on your mind, the colour of the sky changes every minute and if it’s your lucky day, you get to spot dolphins on the Arabian coastline!
Om Beach: We then trek ahead to a beach shaped in the form of the Hindu “Om symbol”; hence its name. It is around 2.5-3 km from Half Moon Beach, and the trail is moderate. Shop atrangi hippie accessories, buy souvenirs, ride a jet ski, pass around the frisbee or play beach volleyball on this beach which is undoubtedly a hub for hippies!
Kudle Beach: Our last (and best) beach destination is Kudle Beach, a popular tourist spot, well-known for authentic seafood, woodfired pizzas and good evening music. Every dish in every restaurant here is served with a view. The cool breeze, the slow sound of the waves and the growing tides are a perfect finish for the day. We now head back to Gokarna beach and later return to the campsite. It is now when the real fun begins.
Enjoy the sunset by Kudle Beach. Later, we will return to the campsite. After freshening up, as evening starts to set in, we will have an open theatre movie night that will be followed by gala dinner.
After this event, we will relax and retire.

Last night was calming, and today is the best. Wake up enjoying your rhythm. We will start for VIbhuti Waterfalls at 10 am after freshening up and having breakfast. We will have lunch en route ( self-sponsored )
After freshening up, get in your best attire; we will set ourselves for a New Year's Eve to welcome 2024. Events will start at 7 pm. A professional DJ and dance are lined up for you. Hit the dance floor with your new fellow mates. Following this, a delicious dinner will be served. To end this eve with grace, we will have a New Year 2024 Celebration to end this eve with grace. The cake will be ready; crackers and Sky Lanterns will be lit. The sky will come alive as dozens of lanterns rise up to cut the darkness.
Details
Welcome the New Year with open arms. Get up late. Freshen up, get in ethnic attire (This is strictly followed in Gokarna temples.), and visit Gokarna Temple.
Later, we will go for the Honnavar Backwater ride. Honnavar town lies at a phenomenal location that forms an estuary: the Arabian Sea at the west and the Sharavati River at the south. Agriculture and fishery are evergreen contributors to the economy. Although the Roof Tile industry is declining, it still prospers with beekeeping and Cashew nut processing. Later, we will start our return journey to Bangalore. En route, we will have dinner and slowly drift to sleep amidst conversations. We will reach Bangalore late at night on the same day.
Although almost impossible, we will have to leave each other's company to return to routine, which is equally important. This was a punched-up, spiced end to 2023. Now that you are in 2024 feel glad for everything you have and get on with your life with a bang!

Policy and Terms
In the event that YOU cancel your trek, this is the cancellation policy we follow:

- *Intimation Period means the number of days before the tour is scheduled to start
- **Cancellation Fee is the amount of money that will be deducted from the total billing amount before offering the refund.
NOTE:
We shall not accept any reasons whatsoever for the cancellation, we request everyone to abide by the policy.There shall be no transfer of dates possible for any reason if you cannot make it to the event once the booking is confirmed.The tickets are transferrable to any person, in case you cannot attend the event.
If Plan The Unplanned cancels the trek due to limited/no bookings for the trek, we shall offer a full refund and the same shall be credited to the original mode of payment within 7 days from the date of initiation of refund.

FAQ's
- I have booked the trek when will I get further updates regarding the trek?
Well, most of our treks are usually confirmed by Thursday and you would receive a BON VOYAGE mail that would contain details regarding Pickup Points ( Location and Timings ), Outdoor Leader ( Point of Contact ) ’s, and Don’ts.
- Would I be added to a WhatsApp Group once the trek is confirmed?
Yes, the Bon Voyage mail would contain a link for Whatsapp Group through which one can join and interact with fellow travelers and outdoor leaders.
- Do I have any other boarding points apart from the ones mentioned?
Yes, we do have options for picking a traveler on board with a few locations provided they are on the route to our destination. The following are the same:

- Yeshwanthpur Metro Station
- Goraguntepalya Metro Station
- Do I have to carry luggage all the way during trekking?
Not at all. You could keep all the extra luggage back at the campsite/homestay and carry only the necessary stuff for the trek ( Raincoats, Torchlight, Waterbottle, lunchbox, and your valuable )
- What is "Without Travel" option during my booking process?
Well, if you select this option, all the travel arrangements for your entire itinerary must be managed by yourself, and Plan the Unplanned crew will not be managing anything related to your travel. We recommend you come via car for a smooth travel experience to, from and within the destination.

- Is the trek safe for Women/Girls?
Yes, it’s much safe and sound. We have been organizing these treks over the years now and we always have had an equal ratio or sometimes we have women in the majority. We also have female outdoor leaders who are on board and lead the other trekking enthusiast. We have made sure our homestay/tent accommodation is separate for men and women.
- Would I be able to postpone to a future in case I do not attend the trek on the day of departure?
We are extremely sorry, you cannot postpone to any future date in case you fail to attend the trek on the mentioned date for any reasons whatsoever ( family/health/work emergencies ). The status of white water rafting will only be announced by Forest/Dam authorities on Sunday morning. No travel company can promise it beforehand 100%. An alternate plan will be decided by the Outdoor leader and shall be final. There shall be no refund in case of any cancellations
- Plan The Unplanned does not allow the consumption of liquor during the journey and the trek. We request strict adherence to it. You would no longer be part of the group if the rules are not followed.
- Each person will receive a Welcome kit with a wristband, two breakfast coupons, one supper coupon, one drink coupon, and one complimentary HOUSIE ticket.
- Hand Bands are required to be worn on the right hand, allowing hassle-free entry to the stay and party areas.
- If your right hand does not include a band, you will be questioned and asked to leave the premises. You will only be permitted to re-enter the premises if you purchase a new band for Rs 100 from your individual team's leader.
- You must present the food coupons to receive your meal. If not, you must purchase a new coupon for 500 Rs.
- You are permitted to bring your own alcoholic beverages for the following corkage fees:
Any beverage under 180 ml costs 100 Rs.
Any drink above 180 ml – 400 Rs - We would be stopping for dinner on the highway.
- Any extra luggage will be kept back in the stay on Day 1.
- Do not expect any luxuries on the trip. The locations that we host are remote places and we do our best to arrange the basic facilities. The goal is to be outdoors.
- Put Litter in its place, do not trash your travel.
- Plan The Unplanned shall not be responsible for any of your belongings, valuables, jewelry, etc. Kindly take care.
- In the case of traffic delays or breakdowns, expect a little delay in reaching the destination.
