While a weekend getaway to Coorg might sound something too cliched, you’ll be surprised to know that the region has some amazing trek trails, providing numerous opportunities to travel enthusiasts for exploring the entire region surrounded by the Western Ghats. Plan The Unplanned has already taken you up there till Tadiyandamol, Kopatty, Nishani Motte and other places, but now it’s time to head towards another new destination, Kumara Parvatha.
Kumara Parvatha, also popularly known as Pushpagiri (5624 feet above sea level), is the second-highest mountain belonging to the Western Ghats mountain ranges situated in the Kodagu district of Karnataka, after Tadiandamol. If compared to the other treks in this region, Kumara Parvatha is a little tougher, but nonetheless, beautiful. The trekking trail runs through the Pushpagiri Wildlife Sanctuary, and you’ll be getting up close and personal with nature during this journey.
You’ll be exposed to the majestic mountains, the valleys painted with the most amazing shades of green, little brooks and some surprises that nature has to offer enroute.
Considered as one of the best treks in India, Kumara Parvatha should be there on your checklist if you are an adventure junkie – dare not to miss it out!
Following are the pick-up points & timings:

It was my first trekking experience with PTU for Kumara Parvatha the most difficult (people say) trekking place in Karnataka.Trek leads of PTU(Shashi,Jolly & Hitha) were simply awesome. They made sure everyone in the team comprising of teenagers to late 50s guys were on track & they really supported each & to every individual whenever they feel trekkers are struggling. They actually motivating one of my friends who was really struggling while hiking.Trekking leads made sure my friend didn’t give up the hiking in between.Trekking Leads kept on engaging the team & made a strong team bond indirectly before even starting the trekking (during travelling via bus before reaching the starting point of trek).Overall it was an amazing experience wih PTU & KP trek will be remembered for long time for sure.
Another weekend, yet another adventurous trail with PTU ! I was on the most amazing and the thougest trek of Southern India – The Kumara Parvata trek recently. Led by Abhishek and Ajay we traversed the entire trail with full sportive energy and enthusiasm. Would surely have another plan to trek the summit all over again 🤘
“Plan the Unplanned- this is what exactly happened to me as well. My recent trip to Gokarna & Kumara Parvatha with PTU was an impromptu one.
Haven’t travelled with full bunch of strangers before for a trip.
Usually we restrict within our group. But if you plan a trip with them they make sure you never stay within your group. The trip leads make sure you interact with others and they also mingle very well with us.
From playing innovate games to know each other till giving title to everyone with a badge at the end of the trip makes us call them “”innovative & creative””.
Organized: & empathetic:
Hmmm, they are well organized. The accomodation they provide is neat (including restrooms). They understand the needs even before we could express and act accordingly.
Overall, my trip experience with PTU was enchanting.
The energy level that the trek leads possess is sumptuous.
You will automatically feel motivated and energised.
Very caring trek leads. Constant check about health, head counting the trek members and what not! Takes you to your childhood trip days where you’ve always enjoyed to the fullest by forgetting the entire world..! Thank you very much and keep up the good work Plan the Unplanned 🙂
